For over 15 years, I have dedicated my career to coaching, mentoring, and guiding student-athletes at every level of competitive basketball. From rebuilding struggling programs into winners, to recruiting nationally ranked prospects, to helping international players earn opportunities, my journey has always centered on one goal: helping young people find the right path forward. Today, I use that same expertise to help high school athletes and their families navigate the often overwhelming recruiting and admissions process with confidence and clarity.
When I became Head Coach at Elmhurst University in 2024, the women’s basketball program had not had a winning season in eight years. Within a single season, I led the team to a 16–9 record, including an undefeated non-conference run and the most conference wins in seven years. More importantly, the players rediscovered pride in their program and belief in themselves. That turnaround wasn’t an accident — it was the result of understanding what drives athletes, creating a plan for success, and helping each player grow.
Those same principles apply directly to families seeking to navigate recruiting. Just as I built a roadmap for my players, I build clear strategies for student-athletes: when to reach out to coaches, how to showcase their strengths, and how to find schools that are the right academic and athletic fit.
Recruiting has been a core strength throughout my career. At the University of Wyoming, I served as the primary recruiter for transfer and JUCO prospects, helping build a roster that advanced to the WNIT Elite Eight. At DePauw University, where I served as Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator, I compiled a 158–25 overall record while leading the program to six NCAA Tournaments and five conference championships. My recruits went on to become All-Americans, Conference Players of the Year, and recipients of prestigious awards like the Josten’s Trophy and Academic All-American honors.
At Southeast Missouri State, I signed three ESPN Top 300 recruits in just one season. Internationally, at the University of Edinburgh, I recruited and coached future professional players while elevating the program to one of the top five in the UK.
I’ve evaluated talent everywhere — from local high school gyms to international showcases — and I know what coaches look for. That insight is exactly what I bring to families: helping them understand how to present their child’s strengths, where they realistically fit, and how to capture the attention of college programs.
My experience extends beyond the court. As Athletic Director for New Castle Community Schools I worked closely with at-risk students in credit recovery courses, giving me a deeper understanding of the challenges many families face. I’ve seen firsthand how athletics can open doors academically, financially, and personally.
I also served on the team managing a $4 million educational grant, giving me perspective on how schools invest in student success. That insight allows me to help families not just with recruiting, but also with navigating scholarships, financial aid opportunities, and the broader admissions process.
My career has spanned every level of college basketball — from being a student manager at the University of Iowa, to coaching at NCAA Division I programs like UW-Milwaukee and Houston Christian, to working in Division III, international, and administrative roles. Along the way, I have learned how different each path can be. Division I is not the right fit for every student-athlete — sometimes Division II, III, NAIA, or junior college programs provide better opportunities for playing time, financial aid, or academic balance.
Parents often feel lost trying to figure out which level is best for their child. My experience across all levels allows me to provide honest, practical guidance. I help families avoid chasing the wrong opportunities and instead focus on the programs that will truly help their student-athlete thrive.
In 2023, I was selected for the WBCA’s Next Generation Institute at the NCAA Final Four, a program that identifies and develops emerging leaders in women’s basketball. This recognition wasn’t just about wins and losses — it was about vision, leadership, and the ability to impact lives.
That same leadership translates into the services I now provide for families. I don’t just hand out advice — I create customized plans, motivate student-athletes, and hold them accountable to their goals. I know how to talk to both players and parents, because I’ve been in the gym, the coach’s office, and the admissions meetings.
Families hire me because I bridge the gap between what they know and what they need to know. The recruiting and admissions process can be confusing, intimidating, and full of misinformation. With me, families gain:
Insider Knowledge: I know how coaches think, what they prioritize, and what separates one recruit from another.
Proven Recruiting Success: I’ve recruited nationally ranked players and built championship teams.
Admissions Insight: I understand how academics, eligibility, and financial aid tie directly into athletic opportunities.
Personalized Guidance: Every student is unique — I help families build individualized roadmaps.
A Holistic Approach: It’s not just about getting recruited. It’s about finding the right school for academics, athletics, and life after college.
Through my business, Next Level Pathways, I offer families tailored guidance, including:
One-on-one consultations to assess athletic and academic fit.
Step-by-step recruiting timelines for each grade level.
Feedback on athletic résumés and highlight videos.
Communication strategies for emailing and speaking with coaches.
NCAA/NAIA eligibility and admissions checklists.
Target school list development based on realistic opportunities.
Campus visit preparation and questions to ask.
Ongoing mentorship and accountability.
Whether a family chooses a one-time consultation or full concierge recruiting support, they walk away with clarity, strategy, and peace of mind.
My coaching journey has been about much more than wins and losses. It has been about transformation — turning underdogs into contenders, helping athletes grow into leaders, and opening doors for young people through the power of education and sport.
Now, I’m taking that same passion and applying it directly to families who want the best for their children. If you’re a parent of a student-athlete who dreams of playing in college, I can help you cut through the noise, avoid wasted time, and find the right fit. Together, we can build a pathway that ensures your child is not only recruited, but also positioned for success in the classroom, on the court, and in life.
Because at Next Level Pathways, it’s not just about making it to college — it’s about thriving once you’re there.
